Data cited in the report noted that Istanbul Airport continued operating with 56 delays (8%) and no cancellations at one point, while Dubai International registered three cancellations and two delays, Bahrain International two cancellations, Hamad International one cancellation, and Abu Dhabi one cancellation. Additional isolated delays were mentioned at airports such as London Gatwick and Boston Logan, with further sporadic impacts across cities including Munich, Manchester, and Madrid.
Airlines advised affected passengers to manage bookings online for rebooking or refunds. The Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation provides guidance on passenger rights and complaint mechanisms. Travelers were encouraged to retain boarding passes, confirmation emails, and timestamps to support any claims, keep devices charged, arrive early, and coordinate directly with their airline’s support channels for updates and assistance.
Authorities reiterated that flight cancellations occur only for valid operational, technical, meteorological, or airspace-related reasons. During this period, relying on official airport and airline updates was presented as the most effective way to navigate changing flight schedules.
