A trip is your complete travel itinerary. It covers everything — from your outbound flight, return flight, and any number of connecting flights. Even if you’re only flying one way, that’s still counted as 1 trip.

Airline compensation is the money from the airline to make up for the delay or cancellation of an international flight that’s covered by EU regulations. The maximum amount that can be paid out is $650. The exact amount you’re entitled to depends on the regulations that apply to your flight, and if your flight is eligible. AirHelp is an expert in claiming this compensation, but the money is never guaranteed.

A payout is an extra $200 from your AirHelp+ insurance. You'll receive this payout when your flight’s delayed over 3 hours, canceled last minute, diverted, or if you miss a connection due to disruption, or when your luggage is lost or delayed. And it’s paid quickly.

The good news? On international flight disruptions you may get both.

If your flight’s delayed over 1 hour or canceled, you can relax in over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide.

To get this benefit, add your flight details in the app or Customer Dashboard as soon as possible (minimum 48 hours before scheduled departure). Then, if your flight’s disrupted, we’ll send you a lounge pass.

Lounge access depends on availability and opening hours. If you can’t use your lounge pass immediately, it remains valid for 3 months and can be used worldwide at any supported lounge.

We’ve designed these AirHelp+ plans with high payout amounts particularly for the USA, where there’s less protection from passenger protection regulations.

However AirHelp+ is available worldwide and supports all air passengers no matter where they are flying, or where they call home. Change the language and region to see and purchase other worldwide plans.

All AirHelp+ plans make use of a wide range of international air passenger rights laws including Europe’s Regulation EC 261, the Montreal Convention, and ANAC 400 in Brazil, to ensure we offer all travelers the support and compensation assistance they deserve.

Your AirHelp+ membership lasts 12 months, but you can cancel anytime to prevent it from renewing.

To cancel, go to your app or Customer Dashboard, select “My account”, and navigate to “Plan & Benefits”. On the page, scroll down to “Manage your plan” and click “Cancel my plan”. Or just email [email protected].
