Going on holiday with your family can be the best part of the year, but it can also be the most stressful. First of all, every family is different. This needs to be taken into account when searching for a destination. Each family will have specific needs and wants that need to be a part of their decision. To make that search a little bit easier we are going to outline some of the best family vacation destinations based on the needs that your family may have.

Best family holiday destinations with a toddler

A family that has young children or toddlers will not have as much freedom or as many options as a family with older children or teenagers. But that does not mean that they cannot have an amazing family vacation.

In the US, there are many places to go on vacation with a young family. Los Angeles is one of the greatest places you can visit. There’s lots to do and see. One of the best places you can go to while there is Disneyland. However, the main park may be too overwhelming for toddlers. Disney’s California Adventure Park, on the other hand, is perfect for small children, as it is smaller and quieter. Your kids will be able to meet their favorite characters, such as Olaf and Elsa. In addition, there are a number of rides and attractions suitable for toddlers, and even babies. They are also very enjoyable for parents too! One of the best attractions for kids, especially on a hot day, is the Princess Dot Puddle Park. Your little ones can cool down as they play in the water. There are many kid-friendly restaurants too so you can get a weekend pass and spend a few days exploring.

If you would prefer to holiday in Europe, there’s an alternative –  Disneyland Paris! Disneyland Paris is a magical place suitable for the whole family. They have rides, attractions and services to cater to all ages. Toddlers love the park as they get to see some of their favorite movies come to life. Disneyland Paris also offers a Baby Switch program. This will allow parents to ride some of the more adventurous rides without having to both queue up twice. There are many options in regard to accommodation. You can get some great deals on Disney hotels, allowing you to be closer to the magic.

If your family would prefer to use their holiday time to relax, there are many places that are catered specifically to the idea of peacefulness and tranquility. Your family can have some time to escape from reality.

The US has thousands of gorgeous, sandy beaches for you and your family to enjoy. However, we have chosen one area which is home to some of the best, Sanibel Island. Located in Florida, its white sandy beaches are family friendly making it the perfect spot for you and your family to go. It is not normally overrun by tourists which will give you the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday the way you want to.

Another amazing option for a relaxing family holiday is a cruise. Although a cruise may not seem like a relaxing choice, it really is. You will be out on the open ocean, far away from all of your problems and responsibilities. That is almost the definition of being disconnected from reality. You can spend your days lying by the pool with a cocktail, or going to the spa. In the evenings, you can enjoy the amazing food and entertainment offered. Don’t think we’ve forgotten about the kids! Most cruises have an abundance of supervised activities – anything from circus skills classes to teen hangout rooms. You can relax in the knowledge that your child is having fun and being taken care of.

Best holiday spots for families who want adventure

Europe has many options for families looking for adventure. How about Finland? This beautiful winter wonderland is perfect for families who are looking for something different and exciting. Apart from the picturesque scenery, you can find a large number of snow-based activities. From skiing to snowshoeing to husky sledding there will be an activity perfectly suited to your family. It is bound to be a once in a lifetime vacation.

Another great place to start is in one America’s most famous national parks, The Grand Canyon. This huge park has so much to offer. You can do hikes, see the geological features (which are millions of years old) and take part in many activities. One of the thrilling activities you can organize is to take part in white water rafting – an experience that your family will never forget.

One of the best family holidays is also one of the cheapest: camping! Camping is a way for you to connect with the family. Away from all the electronic devices like your TV, laptops and video games, you can have real family conversations. The UK and Europe has a huge number of camping areas, try driving to France if you want to increase the chance of sunshine! All you need is a tent (or a campervan) and the desire to discover all that the countryside has to offer.

If you’re on a budget you may think that your only options for vacation are to stay at home. With some careful planning in advance, this is not the case. The Dominican Republic, which is located in the Caribbean, is one of the amazing destinations that you could get at an affordable price if you plan it right. The first step is to book your flights in advance, this is the best way to get those cheap deals. Then, once you are there you can stay in one of the family friendly hostels, or even look into camping as an option. While you are there you can save a huge amount of money by eating and shopping in local restaurants and shops rather than in the tourist areas. The Dominican Republic is a beautiful island with plenty to offer, and if you do it right it can be very cheap. Some companies also organize all inclusive trips which can also be a great option for a family on a budget.

This list has only outlined some of the many options that are available at the moment for your holiday. However, we hope that it will help you in planning your next family trip. All families are different but there is always a destination that will be perfect for yours and we hope that you all find it and have an amazing vacation!

Flight delays happen, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept them. You may be entitled to as much as €600 in compensation if your flight has been delayed, cancelled, or overbooked within the last three years.
