Wintery conditions across Europe have caused a shortage of de-icing fluid. Coming amid hundreds of flight cancellations due to the icy weather, KLM has announced that stocks of the fluid are running low. With 25 de-icing trucks in constant operation throughout the cold snap, supplies of fluid are being delivered daily, and KLM states they are taking efforts to ensure they do not run out.

The shortage of de-icing fluid could contribute to further cancellations at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport following extreme weather. Travellers departing from Amsterdam Schiphol with KLM are advised to check the latest updates on their flight status with the airline.
