Brussels Airlines Flight Delay Compensation

Naturally, airlines make every effort to stick to their advertised schedules, but sometimes things don’t go according to plan. When air travel takes an unexpected turn, AirHelp can take all the administrative heavy lifting off your hands and pursue flight compensation for you.

There’s no need to fill out any complicated forms if your Brussels Airlines flight has been delayed. All you have to do is type in your flight details and we’ll tell you if your flight qualifies. Our team of trusted industry experts know the law inside out, so you don’t have to waste time going back and forth with the airline. What’s more, there’s no need for you to worry about the paperwork or headache involved in going to court to make your case.

Your right to compensation for a delayed flight depends on a few different factors. Essentially, it boils down to whether or not it was Brussels Airlines fault. Brussels Airlines might offer you a voucher to smooth things over while you wait, but we’ve heard of instances when this form actually waives your right to receiving compensation. So, the best thing you can do right now is select the ‘Check Compensation’ button and let us check your eligibility.

As soon as you do that, we’ll be able to tell you if your delayed Brussels Airlines flight qualifies for compensation. We just need your flight number, email address, and a couple of other details to file your Brussels Airlines delay claim and get you the money you’re owed.

How is Brussels Airlines Delay Compensation Calculated?

According to the EC261, air passenger rights in Europe entitle passengers to the following compensation:

  • €250 for flights delayed three hours or more, in which the total flight distance is less than 1,500 km
  • €400 for flights delayed three hours or more, in which the total flight distance is between 1,500 km and 3,500 km (or more than 1,500 km within the EU).
  • €300 for flights delayed between three and four hours
  • €600 for flights delayed more than four hours, in which the total flight distance is more than 3,500 km (or between an EU and non-EU airport).

If your flight is delayed five hours or more, by law, Brussels Airlines has to give you:

  • A full refund for the flight
  • A full refund for other flights in that same reservation which you won’t be able to make
  • A flight back to your original point of departure (the first airport you departed from)
  • Food and drinks
  • Access to phone calls and e-mail
  • Accommodation if you're delayed overnight as well as transportation between the airport and the hotel

I would fully recommend using AirHelp.

I would fully recommend using AirHelp to anyone who has experienced a cancelled flight. The communication was easy and the money that we were compensated with is now in my account. This is all after the airline refused any sort of compensation or real apology. Excellent work, folks.
