Firstly, you’ll need to check whether or not you are eligible for flight delay compensation with EWA Air. According to UK 261, the EU air passenger rights law, flights that were delayed by more than 3 hours may qualify for compensation. This means that you can get up to £520 (€600) per person if you arrive at your destination more than 3 hours late — regardless of your actual departure time. The amount you’re eligible for varies depending on the length of the delay and the travel distance.

If it wasn’t already announced, be sure to also ask EWA Air what the cause of the delay was. You’re only owed compensation if the airline was responsible for the delay. Otherwise, if the delay was unavoidable and outside of the airline’s control, no compensation is owed.
